Hello all, everyone has been so helpful on here thank you! I have another question. I am new and not too savy on chaning my appearamce chaning techniques and so far I have not found any free skins that will make me look my age (51). Can anyone point me in the right direction? How can I easily make my avatar look older than this young one I started with?

Thank you again!

While they aren't Free,

Beebo Brink sells skins for mature women.

Her prices are fairly small, from what I remember.

Free 'older' avatar upstairs at Baiastice. Look for the little 'house' upstairs.

Just use hair other than white and it might look right.

Someone in the DSN had 'mature' avatars, hair, etc. for women but I can't think who it was now. Maybe someone else knows. Or I can try to look in my inv. later.

Oh, and ETD has some nice grey/black/salt and pepper hairstyles, but make sure your avatar head is 50 or under (look in appearance mode at head size). They make good wigs but they are really SMALL.

I have a few minutes: if you are in world, let me know, and I will go there and help you to find it.

At one time, the Skyshop had an 'old man' and an 'old woman' avatar, though those may be older than you had in mind.

Way back when I started, I ran across a skin ship that had skins for the more mature avatar, but I cannot remember the name and I do not know whether they exist any longer. (I believe they had four ranges, divided by apparent age, from spring to winter... but that could be a false memory.)

Okay I am in world and I am rezzing at the shop, that sent out the DSN sample of 'mature skins.' So let me post a SLurl here:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ookami%20Ningen/82/103/28

It is called "Brazen Women Shapes and Skins."

And speaking of DSN: I would recommend joining the freebies via DSN to anyone. You sign up in any category you want and get free samples of wares from all sorts of SL designers, delivered to you. One category is shapes and skins, for example. That's how I got this one. I also view it as a way to try things I normally wouldn't, or even if I don't try them, to view them so I can help others searching for things I would never buy. Tattoos, for example.

If you are in SL for the next 5 minutes or so Ginger, IM me there; but if not, then I think this shop is right up your alley. I'd recommend getting a shape AND a skin, since a skin on its own can look good/bad depending on the shape you pair it with.

Then just wear the new shape and skin. You can't remove your old ones.

Speaking for myself, I find the older avatar really quite sexy. I always say "old age is getting on top of me" :)

Just met with Ginger in world, and gave her the LM to the shop I mentioned.

Unfortunately that pleasant diversion was somewhat ruined by an IM from a very disturbed mind. But - onward and upward...

Logging off a while, just wanted to let you all know Ginger had been helped out.

Right now I'm gonna log and clear my head, dinner's getting cold anyway.
