Is this possible?

I have a large ship with many items inside. I'd like to move the entire ship and it's contents to another sim where I also have land.

Is there a way to lock all objects (ship and all contents), move it to the other sim and then unlock everything again?

If so,, how do I do this?

Thanks in advance for any ideas or alternatives.

How big is the ship? Personally I use Rez-Foo but that costs around L$2500, but it allows you to move big builds, there are alternatives but I haven't used them.

Rez-foo will work, but there is a simpler way. However, it requires much care.

Do you own, or have transfer rights to, everything in your ship? If so, you can "take" all of it into your inventory in one operation, as a single coalesced object. This is very easy, BUT you must be very careful, otherwise you'll have a real mess on your hands. I recommend trying it with a small set of objects first.

1. Start by putting a box down in the center or front of your build. Name it something very distinctive, like "All my stuff". The purpose of this box is just to give your build a name you can recognize.

2. Open your inventory and be sure you don't have anything typed into the search line. Notice what is on the top of your Objects folder.

3. Now, select all the objects simultaneously (usually you would use a surround-select with "Select only my objects" enabled). You must be very careful to select ONLY those objects you want to take, so scan carefully for trees or outbuildings that you don't want to take, and use shift-select to deselect everything you don't want to take.

Select the "All my stuff" box last.

4. Right-click on your selection, and select "Take" on the pie menu. The entire thing will be taken at once. It will show up in your inventory as a "coalesced object" --- that is, its icon will look like a stack of boxes instead of just one box. It should be the top thing in your Objects folder, and hopefully will be named "All my stuff" (but maybe not).

5. Go to where you want to rez it. Put a platform up a little ways above the ground.

6. Open up your edit window (ctrl-3).

7. Rez it! Everything will show up in exactly the same relative position it was originally, and it will all be selected so you can reposition it. Reposition it using the arrows, not the numbers in the edit window.

Nika, Unfortunately, what you describe will only work now if the total build is less than 1000 prims. As of server code release 1.26.3, they castrated the ability to Take, Take Copy or even DELETE more than 1000 prims selected at once!

For the ship itself, use Builder's Buddy. It is free, and in the Scripting Library forum. Similar to Rez-Foo, without as many bells and whistles, but quite adequate for the OP's task.

For the furnishings in the ship, ESPECIALLY if any of it is either no-mod or no-copy, take those into inventory individually before trying to take up or package with a rezzer the rest of the ship.
