Is it ok to sell stuff in the beta grid in sandboxes, at the welcome area, etc?

Such as, for example, a designer uses the beta grid to test imports of textures, sounds, etc., and runs low on beta grid money.

Is it ok for them to set out a vendor on Linden land to sell some stuff to get more beta grid money?

People would be paying with beta grid play money, and could buy the stuff to see if they like it before buying it for real in the main grid.

It's the Beta Grid... as the Linden dollars cannot be exchanged out for other real world currency people can test transactions all they wish. Note that users of the Beta Grid start out with Linden dollars (of varying amounts).

It's funny money.

I know it would perhaps not make sense to enforce the rules against selling in the sandbox in the beta grid, but rule enforcement and making sense don't always walk hand in hand.

Nor will the boneheads thinking that somehow the beta grid is a vast new world to be exploited make sense.

Then there will be lots of "HOW DUZ EYE CACH OUT BATA GRIDZ????"

when I go there to test I always see one or two avatars in appearance mode, does changing your appearance on the Beta Grid carry over into the Main Grid? I would have thought not.

My guess is they want to experiment with their nocopy shape but not risk damaging it in main grid, or they are just vain.

What I find interesting is the number of people who spend time on the beta-grid because they were banned on the main grid. I've met six such people and all banned for underage violations.

I can't see the harm in selling stuff on beta as it is all play money. The easiest way to test would be to try it and see if anybody AR'd. I would imagine that if they objected it would only be a warning the first time in any case (BUT I could be completely wrong on this). I suppose if you got pulled up on it you could say you were testing the vendor scripts.

That's a bit alarming. I always assumed that a ban on the main grid carried over to the beta grid. That means that the population on beta could become progressively more full of griefers and underage avatars. Do teens have access to beta? or do they have their own separate beta grid?

The better solution is simply to contact a Linden and explain the situation, and they can reset your L$ balance so you can continue testing. It's just "funny money".

By the way, if you log in to the beta grid and happen to have a L$ balance on the main grid that is higher than L$5K, and if the grid's asset data was refreshed recently, your main grid balance will be what you have to play with in funny money. Handy if you need to test a large land purchase or something else that requires more than L$5K.

There is no separate "adult grid" and "teen grid", they're one and the same (agni).

Every account has a parent estate ID which determines which sims you are able to visit (or even see) and which other accounts you can interact with.

So teens can log on to aditi but only have access to any teen sims that happen to be included on the preview grid. It's no different than how it works on the main grid.

Per my experience, anything made in the Beta grid and given/sold to someone is only available in the Beta grid.
