the only thing that helps me in that situation is a relog, because you have basically been disconnected from SL. it could be your puter.
give us your specs.

shut down your computer and then unplug your modem and/or router from the electrical source for about 3 mins then plug them back in. Boot your computer again and try logging into SL.

From: Steely Carver doesn't anyone use capital letters and punctuation any more This is not helping her and take your own advice. I have this happen on occasion, I relog and reboot my router and modem... I actually think my linksys is on its last leg.... maybe you have a modem and or router issue? Are you able to be on web pages without issue or do you get 404 page not found sometimes?

From: Daisey Dawg yes , the rest of the internet works just fine which is the weird part am able to watch movies and everything else but sl SL is a very intensive program and you'll need a fast cpu to keep up, umm intel pent M should really be enough to run SL, but maybe you could add some more ram? I dunno if it will help but it sure wont hurt.

This sounds like you loose connection or just packets. First of all stop any other activities which use network resources.
Do you try to login with 2 accounts on the same line concurrently (either on same or different computer)? If so, try using only one account to see if it's ok then. Otherwise try logging in into a different SL location . if you don't have the location select box go into settings and click "Show start location on login screen".
Once logged in you can use the statistics bar (ctrl-shift-1) to see about connection problems and lost packets.
And Pentium M - sounds like a laptop? Especially laptops have problems tue to the shared graphics memory. Which kind of graphics do you have there? Not all of it is supported.

I'm curious to know how loggin in with 2 accounts at same time would tell anything. Not at all bashing just curious. because I can't for the life of me get 2 accounts to run well at the same time , ok I only tried once.. But SL was so bogged down when I tried I just forgot about it. I've also forgotten how to run 2 instances of SL at the same time anyway... This issue happens to me on occasion and usually a reboot helps. The inventory I figure is because I just have so much stuff in there.. I'm eager for education in this myself. ; )

From: Daisey Dawg yes , the rest of the internet works just fine which is the weird part am able to watch movies and everything else but sl SL needs a fast and above all constant connection to the net. If your net connection is unstable, maybe it goes off or drops bandwith for just a fraction of a second, it may not automatically restore connection with SL when your general net connection comes back. Everything else, including movie streaming, will just carry on where it left off and if the interruption was a fraction of a second you wouldn't even notice it. But SL, in that fraction of a second, will come to a halt and it won't always re-start again. Are you on wireless? If you are, that might be the cause of the problem. Can you get a wired connection and try it that way?

From: Karl Herber Are you on wireless? If you are, that might be the cause of the problem. Can you get a wired connection and try it that way? Agreed, a wireless connection that loses touch for even a millisecond will disconnect you completely from SL and the symptoms you describe are exactly like what happens when you have a drop. A good wired connection is crucial for SL to run properly. Karl's answer is what mine would have been if he hadn't been here first. A
