I played it for a bit.
I got suckered in about the make money schtick.
Seems a money pit to me...

Entropia and SL are 2 completely different beasts. Entropia can be fun but you have to play smartly or get gets EXTREMELY expensive. I have seen people drop 100USD on 1 hunt! And some of the Armor costs more than my car! Played smartly though it can be great fun. By smartly I mean stick to MOBs in your skill range and use the most economic weapons possible and preferably no armor. Sweatting stinks but it gets you the skills you need to hunt without armor later (or pay ALOT less in armor repair). I enjoy both games but they appeal to different sides of my gaming nature.  |

i used to play PE, the only connection between it and SL is the real/fake money parity.
Other than that it's some pretty classic mmo game, at the difference that it's rigged a bit like a casino, you can win a lot of cash, but it's rare and peoples will lose most of the time.

its nothing to spend 100 usd a day if you play for long period of time i got sucked into it and could have bought serveal private islandshere in sl for what i spents in EU i do miss it at times but all it takes is one hunt watchign the peds disapear and i remember why i left even your clothing decays now and you have to pay to repair it  |

OK- so then my original impression- that this is a hunt game and not a social thing is correct? Remember I have only seen the web page - thanks all the input. Guess I am not interested either.

Seriously.
They constantly announce *BLING BLING* "So-and-so found a widget worth 195,000 PED while harvesting rutabagas!". Just like in a real casino.. makes people get in there and spend more money.

As others have stated there's no way to compare Entropia to SL.
First of all, Entropia sucks, plain and simple. It is not user friendly at all. There are no instructions regarding what you are suppose to do. When you get in world they have people there to assist you and instruct you (something SL should learn from), but it is not easy to figure out. I never did figure out how to collect that damn sweat or what it was that people were doing for me.
I'm sure there's lots of fun and exciting things to do once you get to know what to do, but I just didn't have the patience. Maybe I would have if I'd see enough to make me think it was worthwhile but all I saw was SL but within an environment that was very restricted to playing their game.
