"Payment Info Used, Not"

I just age verified and downloaded the release candidate to see if that new status shows in my profile. What I found was that in the account window (to the right of my picture) says "Payment Info Used, Not." Kind of funny, kind of like No Payment Info on file with more attitude, except that this account is premium. I assume that the field is just not large enough to say Not Verified, even though I just verified on the website. That, or SL is just messing with me. Anyone else see this? Am I missing something obvious?

I verified a while ago so if it says "Not verified" it's a bit of a misleading piece of information but this is a beta release.

I looked in the contents of the release candidate and although the field isn't big enough, it is programmed to read:

*payment info information*, *age verification status*


So if it says " Payment info used, not--" then it's saying "NotAgeVerified"

Which I can tell you is broken at the moment -- I am verified and my profile comes up with the 'not'

Thanks for the info everyone and the confirmation Atashi. Although, I was hoping that the too small field if expanded might say something like "Payment info on file, Not bad looking either." Oh well.

Messed SL things... we are getting used to them...

Does it show the Not Age Verified when you view someone else's profile? According to their FAQ, it is not supposed to, but you know how that goes..

i just read the Knowledge Base article on this, and it says that they will *not* be showing age verification status in our profiles ...

"Other Residents will not be able to view your age verification status -- for example, within your profile. However, if you are on a parcel that requires age verification, other Residents on that parcel (or having access to your location information) may be able to deduce that fact."

i can't log in right now, but i'm curious if i have a misplaced "not" on my profile as well!

It has shown the "Not Age Verified" for every profile I have looked at so far.

Except Lindens. Their profiles don't indicate if they've verified or not.

Edited to add: Maybe they mean that it will show "Invalid" information for everyone elses profile." It's certainly invalid in my case, i verified months ago :-/

At the moment you do see "Payment Info Used, Not" on other user's profiles.

Well, it appears they are pushing the information down to the client, which means even if the 'official' client doesn't show it, the home brews can.

Yes, the FAQ clearly states they will not show the age verification status - so even saying Not Age Verified is breaking that.

Apparently there is quite a delay between submitting your age verification data successfully and the LL daabases seeing that it has been done. They probably only have a daily donkey courrier from the low-bidder in the UK that they chose to run their IDV service. I did mine successfully more than 3 hours ago, and that flag hasn't yet changed for any of them.

And yes, you can see that ID status in every profile, despite the Linden FAQ stating extremely clearly that this yes or no flag would NOT be visible in profiles.

I did mine sucessfully in August or whenever they started the concierge IDV beta, and mine hasn't updated yet either.

hmm I can't see in anyone's profile if their verified or not & it doesn't say I am in mine! How do you enlarge the profile box as above?

I manually edited a few of the xml files inside the viewer package. The floater_profile.xml and the panel_avatar.xml files to be specific... If you're comfortable messing around in the SL guts then you shouldn't have any trouble finding the appropriate things to modify. I only did it to see what was being truncated in there.

I've looked at a few dozen profiles and what I can see is every last one of them says Not Age Verified, regardless of whether the avatar in question is verified or not. So my guess at the moment is the inworld verification system is not up and running yet, but the UI elements are coming into place.

Ah thanks Atashi, thinks I best leave that well alone!

It'll be like a 'scarlet letter' or something, shaming people into age verification because of all the stigma of not being verified and somehow not trustable because you choose not to verify yourself.

The simple fact that you, and I, don't participate in any 'adult activity' that you need to verify you are over 18 for, doesn't seem to matter to Linden Lab.

I don't need or want to verify, but I can see the time coming where I have little choice if I'm going to be allowed to go anywhere if "non verified" is a parcelwide bannable thing like no payment info is.
