The last few times I have logged on, I get a message saying my clothes are still downloading, but they never do! I cannot change my appearance. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks. Cheekers.

Hi Cheeky, start with the basics:
- clear cache and relog
- do it again
- log off and manually delete everything in the cache folder, relog
- log off, completely delete the settings folder (save chat logs if you got 'em), relog
- log off, uninstall the software, delete the settings folder, reinstall and relog
- try your account on a different computer
- try another account on your computer (make an alt if you don't have one)

Before getting into the more involved stuff like reinstalling the software, you might give it a day or two. A lot of people are reporting avatar rendering problems, so it might just be a server-side glitch that you can't do anything about, except wait for it to get fixed.

If it's still a problem after doing all of the above, submit a support ticket (if this is something covered by your level of support). Follow it up with live chat support, as LL is often slow to respond to the tickets, but tends to snap to it when you submit a ticket and then follow up.

this is an asset server problem all you can do is wait and try again later. ONe day i walked naked (at least to me i was naked) cause my clothes would not rez. It was the weekend and I had planned to do some building and go out shopping for some textures I went out like that cause I got tired of waiting. Not much you can do maybe try changing clothes if the client will let you. If you get a message that says that there is already something "pending" for that spot you really just have to wait or put up with what has loaded lol

One thing we forgot: rebake.

Do you know how to access the Client menu? Rebake is an option toward the bottom of the Character submenu.

Client > Character > Rebake Textures

If that doesnt work...

Client > Character > Character Tests > Test male (or female) > relog > Log back in > Put back on your things

And ofcourse the classic..

Ctrl P > Networking > Clear Cache > Relog

Yes, I am naked and I am Ruthed, and NO it is NOT hot--especially not compared to my usual cute self. It has been well over a week now. I have business to do, I had to meet once of my clients who did not speak English very well, and it was a complete embarassment to be asked over and over why I was not wearing clothes! Dang! then I created a new avatar for myself, and now when I try to put clothes on her, I get a symbol that indicates that it is "locked". What the hell is THAT about? Sheesh! Can someone please help me get back to normal?

I just deleted the settings folder (@ C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\SecondLife), logged in again, and voila, no more ruth. I can't believe it was that easy.

Cheeky is BACK!

Hello everyone, Cheeky is BACK! I found the answer under Client, Character, Character Test, Test Female. Out of desperation, I clicked it and my avatar changed into a pretty cute girl (not Cheeky). I promptly put back on my old shape and skin and voila! What a relief. I feel like I've been let out of prison.

Thanks everyone. Pass this along--this was too easy, and I can't believe there was no information about this anywhere. Dang.
