I have tried doing a search for this in the forums but have no luck..

I dl and installed the emerald, it seems nice I like all the doohickies they put into it.
BUT, when I log I have to relog like 3 times before I am no longer a cloud. It takes FOREVER to load prims and alot more forevers to load the textures........

I was wondering if someone can hand me some tips of increasing the speed in which things load or have suggestions as to how to stop being a cloud and having to relog 3 times.

Also, I spent some time uploading a few textures while using this viewer and when I went back to the SL viewer I cant find those anymore (and they wasn't temp uploads) SO Im not sure what the deal is on this issue...

So if you have some advice or can point me to a thread where I might find my answers it would be much appreciated.

thanks

I forgot to add I have everything at the lowest settings and draw rate.

I took a quick look; on the Mac Pro in Leopard, Emerald offsets all the luminous things from their true positions by about 30 degrees. Not ready!

I haven't noticed a difference between the default SL viewer & Emerald. I switch back and forth on occasion, too.

Yeah I was disappointed at the slow rendering of textures and switched back to a Kirstens viewer.

Maybe it is something just related to each person's hardware - I hae been running GL for ever and have never had any problems with rendering - although a few times if in a very laggy place i do get the cloud thing but it is usually remedied by a tp.

I went back to the previous version (577) and that seemed to take care of the slow rezzing/laggyish behavior I was getting in the latest version. As always, your mileage may vary...

How have you got it installed? If you can, run the "Optimized" version, but in any event, also install the GreenLife_Proprietary_Pack_Voice-Support-FPS-Boost.exe on top of it.

I've been using Emerald for a week or so now and have noticed some slow loading at times. To be honest, I've also noticed that with the default SL viewer as well. So far, though, Emerald seems to be more stable than the default viewer.

Try uninstalling it completely and re-installing, only this time with the optimized version. That does, I understand, make a lot of difference -- I've only used that, but people who've tried the normal and then the optimized tell me the latter is much faster.

The default SL viewer is slower for me. I don't get the avatar vapor cloud at all with Emerald. I've had a lot of lag overall with both viewers lately though.

As far as hardware goes i think i am running SL at the higher end of computer specs.

In the standard viewer - I crash maybe once in 6 weeks or 2 months and that will be a TP crash or something. With Emerald i crash multiple times a day - and the rezzing is slower since 673, but not in the previous versions, and i have been using Emerald for a while. I am also running a pretty streamline version of Windows 7x64 with very few extra software packages installed. I did realize a greater number of crashes after i had installed some video editing software but i uninstalled it and my crashing reduced dramatically.

I guess i will switch back to 577 and check that out.
