Crash after about 30 seconds

Hi, everyone.

About a week ago, SL started crashing on me (I don't know how long it had been since I previously logged in, maybe 5 days or so). I literally can't stay in for more than a minute or two before it locks up. I've tried everything from deleting my user files (on the mac, under my home directory) to getting new versions, etc.

I don't think my video drivers have changed, and nothing else should have changed. It just seems like SL doesn't like me any more:(

Any suggestions?

try a third-party viewer.

System specs might help people make pertinent useful suggestions.

Check your fans - dusty fans, grills, fans that don't spin properly can cause overheating when running SL.

You might try posting in the Mac forum, and joining a Mac user group in SL.

It's a mac pro- about 2 years old. The video card in it is the cheapy, but I don't remember which it is. I don't think it's a heat problem. It happens within minutes of starting SL. I can't join a group in SL, since I can't actually communicate more than 2 phrases before it's time to force quit.

Oh, and I was using a 3rd party viewer when it started. After updating that and getting the same results, I downloaded the newest version from here, which didn't help.
