A wierd sitting bug?

Ok, so I can only describe this in a few sentences....

Most times when I try to sit, try out poses on a stand or sit on pose balls I end up in the corner of the sim for several seconds (Either up in the air or below the ground. Right in the sim corner, no TPing involved).
I have to wait for these several seconds to pass before I see my av at its intended seating location.

Does it happen to anyone else?

Yes, I have that exact thing happen to me once in a while. Sometimes it ends up cancelling the sit, sometimes I stay at 0,0,0 and have to relog, and sometimes I end up finally sitting where I am supposed to. I have no idea what causes it, and it seems to happen randomly.

This is a pretty well-known condition.
From: the LSL wiki, on llSitTarget()
Note: in conditions of high lag and slow communications speed, SL will sometimes put the avatar close to <0,0,0> in the sim for sometime before actually putting the avatar in the sit location.
But... I have llSitTarget-based teleporters that have suddenly taken to occasionally, at random, sending the passenger flying to over 1km altitude and then unseating them directly over their intended target, to which they plummet in free-fall. So, in lieu of a fix, I'm trying to come up with a trademark-able name for this feature. :p

Hmm.. the ejection poseball?

I think these series of bugs have been around since before I joined SL. Sadly, it's not a reliable enough a bug to call it a true feature!

I have had this happen also, not as often lately. I recall seeing an explanation of it someplace, along the lines of, when the animation or sit script tries to place you sometimes there is a lag where the sim server puts your avatar at coordinates 0,0,0 for a bit before it finally moves you to the correct location. Apparantly this same thing can happen sometimes with new objects that are rezzed, normaly the server rezzes everything at 0,0,0 for a split second before it then moves you to the correct location in the sim. Sometimes objects get stuck there if "something went wrong".
