Does that violate any rules in SL? I have other clothing items on display as well and would like to bring in some additional collections and select clothing lines, including lingerie items. As long as the displays of the items are kept tasteful or have "KEY AREAS" blurred or something, would that still be a violation? Someone told me as long as it is indoors, it doesn't matter, but, I would much rather be sure than risk my shop and SL account. Thank you for any assistance you can throw my way. Cheers!

err not really no its clothes although a bit skimpy but as long as you cover up the "naughty bits" you are okay

There are lingerie shops all over the place in RL, I don't see why they shouldn't fit into a PG environment. Generally it's good to keep the lingerie on ....did I really just say that?

As a rule: As long as the same could also be depicted in a RL clothes catalogue, you should be OK.
Covering the "strategic locations" is key.

Actually, I think a Lingerie shop would not Violate the Spirit of the PG rating as long as the Model Photos and advertising did not feature Gratuitous Nudity. After all, go into any RL Mall in Any City in North America and you will find dozens of such shops, some of them right next to Toy Stores. Now that is an environment where Teens, and children are frequent patrons. Here in SL we are All supposed to be Adult (Though i Have discovered Adult is a relative term) so even in a PG Sim an Underwear store is hardly something to (Pardon the Phrase) get your knickers in a bunch over.

Yeah, any JC Penney's or Sears catalog is definitely PG. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're selling some XXX BDSM stuff.

Im not sensitive because of griefer stories I hear about or read through on the forums (Not that I want to invite it either.) Im more concerned with potential filings or problems with the "Management" for being outside the boundaries, that's it, pure and simple, no need to read anything further into it or add any undue baggage. Im new around here and want to stay in the good graces of the Top Floor, so, I apologize if it's wrong to ask a beginner's question amidst the veterans of SL. It's so much more responsive, I find, to ask here then to peruse thousands of archived posts looking for past responses to the same question. If I am within the TOS to move forward with presenting my "WEARS" in the location that I have, I will. That would be far less complicated then waiting for a land sale to happen and then having to find another location that WOULD serve my expansion need. I did also mention, I think, that I also sell casual and upscale "everyday" clothing and that I am interested in ADDING these lines, so, it's not like an exclusive theme. I was never talking BDSM or anything that extreme, let alone whether my design skill is all THAT, just simple lingerie items. Garters, baby-dolls, corsets, bodices and such, sultry outfits, silk stockings, heels, that sort of fare, I just didnt know if the Peek-a-boo elements of the more "heated" varieties (That are inevitible in that theme.) would be in any violation. Cheers If you depict the stuff in vendor devices or through plates/boxes, just blur out the naughty bits. This will give the prospective buyer enough of an idea to make up her mind, while staying north of the TOS boundary. |

Cheers Hi Porsche - Ask any questions you want. Beginner questions are welcome. Please don't feel like this is an exclusive group or that you shouldn't as a question. Despite all the goofing off, questions always get answered, especially serious ones like yours. If you're new to Sl, and the forms, welcome! I asked some whoppers when I was really new, and I still ask some dumb ones on occasion (on occasion=daily).

Because LL's policies are carved in sand at low tide .. its what some prude with a tude thinks PG is that will influence you being reported.
Ou should be safe from punishment though.
