That is called "an invisiprim", it is a commonly used thing people use to make high heels with. You can't get rid of that or else your high-heeled shoe will lose its heel. One of the limitations of the avatar shapes possible in SL, there's no way to make high heels without them.

They're only visible when walking on a floor or other item which has transparency built in , such as 'watery' dancefloors.

Yeah.....it's sort of a conflict happening with the alpha textures (invisible) or something. Ya see it in certain areas.....nothing to be done.....We juuuuust have to accept that not everything in SL is 'perfect' just yet.  (sort of reminds of when I was helping a new person and they actually were complaining about how their hair and other stuff wasn't reacting properly with gravity lol um.....I had to gently explain that the idea of 'gravity' is kind of a relative term in a virtual world) Doh! |

If you can tolerate wearing a "system shoe" you won't have that problem. A system shoe is one made without using prims. If you could find a pair of shoes made with prims that suit you that don't use invisiprims, that would work too, but that would more likely be a pair of clunky boots rather than a high heel. The invisiprim is used in the high heels to hide the avatar foot mesh when the foot is made to be at an angle that matches the prim-built high heel shoe.
