We used to be able to put selected people on ignore. Is that still possible here?

Yep - click on the persons name and do View Public Profile. In there, under their picture on the right, there's an "Add to your ignore list" link.

From: Ciaran Laval why would you want to ignore anyone? win, lose or draw, everyone's opinion should be respected. Perhaps to prevent a hurried, disrespectful response to someone else's opinion? We've all done it at least once, posted something when we shouldn't have. If I know John Doe annoys the dog droppings out of me, regardless of how frequent or infrequent Mr. Doe posts, if he's on the ignore list and disappears for me, he won't be at the rude end of my pooper-scooper. Just my opinion, anyway. A

From: Ciaran Laval why would you want to ignore anyone? win, lose or draw, everyone's opinion should be respected. Well, if not respected, At least noted. you cannot comment intelligently on a conversation if you are blocking out Half of what is being said. being disagreeable doesn't automaticly make someone Wrong. I love the ignore user feature on the forums. It's not that I don't respect other people's opinions.. it's just that I respect my right to not have to read them even more. If I find someone annoying, I'd rather not read their posts anymore, than to risk the chance that I'm having a bad day and decide to make them my target.

From: Ciaran Laval why would you want to ignore anyone? win, lose or draw, everyone's opinion should be respected. Because some people, very consistantly, make me want to reach thru the screen and thwap them, repeatedly, upside the head with a rolled up newspaper. They absolutely have the right to post, just as I've got the right to totally ignore everything they say.

From: Ciaran Laval everyone's opinion should be respected. I beg to differ. Everyone is entitled to their opinon, but said opinions do not at any point constitute required reading and respect from others.

You can`t mute forum leader moderators
12-08-2007 21:04
From: someone We used to be able to put selected people on ignore. Is that still possible here? Well for the normal user we can mute. But if they are some kind of .........well cough cough cough person forum leader moderators well no you can`t. LLAbs really need to redo these indiv forum mod are, or just set they feature to beable to mute them regaurdless is they have their own personal forum leader moderators. ABuse is sure happening and its happened more then many care to deal with. But Raudf Fox has a better view on the subject. That i do agree.

there are a rare few people that don't add anything useful... for these ignore is way to clean the screen of clutter... other reasons noted above, and if they look like they might have something useful to say, there is still a line with their name and 'view this post'
