Password Recovery

Pls. sameone help me i cant reset my password i do all steps i get mail from SL
and then they ask me for my friends names in SL i olso forgot names what to do now
pls somone help me i love that account so much.

I had to do the same thing along time ago. I had the same problem with the friends names thing. Isn't there another option for confirming your account? Seems to me like there was.

ETA...Looking at it now...You only have to answer one of the questions it asks you. Either the top question and hit submit or the friends question and hit submit.

Look on your machine for your friends' names in chat and IM logs.

Pep (Probably in c:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\SecondLife\Vranasmorena_ Bernheim or whatever your avatar name was.)

Sadly, the answer is to keep calling LL on the phone until you find somebody that will help you. I have a friend that had the same problem and that's all that worked for her..

If you last logged off with the account you forgot the password off then take a look at the "name.cache" file (just open it in Notepad or any other text editor) in your SL cache folder.

It's going to have the name of anyone you have on your friends list (as well as anyone who owned something you hovered your mouse over, anyone within the sim and surrounding sims you were on, anyone who IM'ed you, etc etc).

I just changed one of my alt's passwords by choosing the optional question to make sure it works. It does.

That happens when you base your answers on fictitious things. Try fallowing Pep's and Kitty's instructions. If that does not work you'll have to call like Meade says.

LL knows people use false information to sign up for accounts sometimes and they will work with you as long as you tell them what is happening and why.

The solution is simply to keep calling LL over and over until you get someone who will help.

Not everyone you reach will help. Hang up and call again.

Those stupid secret answers help save you from having your account stolen. Its not fool proof but it helps.

Make Vranasmorena a premium account and file a support ticket. How bad do you want this account back is the only limiting factor.

Because someone can hack your email or get in your computer while it's still logged in and then ask for your av info this way if that is all it required.

As someone who has forgotten passwords before though, I do feel your pain. (Said in the best Bill Clinton-esque crinkled brow way for sincerity.)
