Can't even begin to log on to Second Life

Hi, I've had this problem for only about an hour, but I can't seem to open up Second Life at all.
Whenever I try, I get the crash logger and a "Second Life has stopped working" message.

And yesterday, when I was happily able to log in, I couldn't move, speak or interact with anything, all I could do was stand there until I crashed.
(Apologies if this is in the wrong forum)

Hi Lyssa, I have no idea what might be causing this but you could try reinstalling the viewer.

Actually, the problem started after I reinstalled. :S
.... Which may be the problem, now that I think about it.

:\ I tried reinstalling, after the installation I said "Yes" to "Run SL now?" And it worked fine up until I crashed, but, as an icon on my desktop all that happens is the crash logger.

Tell it to no and it should start loading SL.

Also, did you delete the folders before reinstalling or clear the cache? Sometimes those get corrupted and cause crashing on loading also

I didn't do either of those things.
The image for Second Life doesn't even show up now.

Sounds like you're all mucked up.

- Do a complete uninstall of SL on your computer.
- Do a search afterwards for anything related to Second Life, and delete those files/folders.
- If you have a registry maintenance tool, run it, and let it delete any lingering references to Second Life.

Go to the downloads page and re-download the viewer. Click "Save File", NOT "Run".

Once the file is downloaded, browse to it and run it to install the viewer. Keep the original downloaded file, in case you ever need to reinstall it again.

NOTE: A lot of people have had better luck with the experimental "Snowglobe" viewer (also on the downloads page) or one of the third party viewers. I'm using GreenLife Emerald, from Modular Systems, and I'm very happy with it. You can download the regular viewer AND these others, since they install to their own directory, and then run whichever one you like.
