There use to be a directory of SL Member profiles on the web. My own profile link was at:
http://world.secondlife.com/resident/a777fede-998d-4fd3-b8c2-284e2404db3c
About 6 or 8 months ago my profile image became a broken link, but the page was still live up until as recently as 3 or 4 weeks ago.
Then I went to check it today and got that broken link error.
I know that LL redesigned the SL website recently.
When I search for profile there, it give me this link:
The only search result for christopherbest daviau is the name of a resident (0.011716 seconds)
Resident profile: Christopherbest Daviau
The name then links to this:
secondlife:///app/agent/a777fede-998d-4fd3-b8c2-284e2404db3c/about
The link is an in-world link, but when I click it, it doesn't pull anything up. It just brings the SL app to the foreground. I would think it would at least pull up my profile in-world, if the link is going to send me in-world.
Odd.
Anybody know if there is a new web-based Member directory?

LL is making alot of changes right now. Perhaps it is related to that.
Meanwhile I highly reccomend you don't post broken links. Those just annoy people. _____________________

the reason why the main profile link went down is that they were monkeying around with the address space, which is now fixed.
as for the search thing... I dunno, it has to be an indexing issue, because there are other people, even with show in search checked, that don't come... and has been this way since they instituted new search, did you try the old search too? (no clue on the image thing... try resenting it?) _____________________

Saw your entire profile. I am upset, I was hoping to enjoy a nice broken link. ;P Seriously, they are making changes, and the functionality of a link day to day, or hour to hour is subject to change. |
