With all these new avatars on our library I decided to create a medieval alt, but then two doubts get in the way:

1º you use the same AO if you use a medieval or a futuristic avatar?
2º where can I find some good clothes for them (and also some free ones)?
3º still don’t know if I do a male or female, any suggestion, even for names?

Yes, same AO

Most medieval RP sims have freebie packs with basic medieval clothes. You can find one at Aglarond

Depends. Most sims need more males. Name would also depends on what race you want to be. But don't use names like princexxx or other title in the name, it's a drag in RP.

Your current name seems suitable enough, at least for a male avatar. You could even get away with a female av, I think, although "Nuna" would be better. Or Nina, or Niniae or Niniane.

There are lots of places for clothes. One (non free) that comes to mind is Avilion Mist. A good way to shop when looking for ideas within a general category is to search the third party sites like SL Exchange or OnRez.

I should think any AO would do, mostly. However, I have seen a couple things that might tweak things favorably, like walk/stand/sit poses for full skirts. Check out some of the vendors on Animation Island. Reel Expressions had some clothing-specific animations, as I recall.

Same AO, but your mileage may vary.

The place where I RP has a freebie pack. Look for Azuria (there's also a mall for medieval stuff).

Name depends, there are many to choose from. Google for "medieval names".

If you want mostly free stuff, it's a huge advantage to be female. There's lots of gowns that can be used as medieval gowns. For men, I'm not sure if there's 3-5 medieval themed male free outfits out there, exept the one in the library.

Renaissance Island has a nice freebie pack, both male and female. I'm not sure about Analise (silks and roleplay clothing) but didn't she offer an nice outfit for men if you joined her group? Worth to take a trip over and look.

And DeFleur fashion has lots of free gowns, and that's realistic looking ones... no "prom night" gowns, but long sleeves and high collars. Their 100 L gowns are just fabulous.

SLEX has some stuff too: http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=39939

And always freebie blogs like http://slfreestyle.blogspot.com/, http://annazwiers.blogspot.com/ and http://fabfree.wordpress.com/.

I'm not logged right now to give you a SLurl, but a couple of months ago the Midsummer RP sim had a free male and female outfit available at its landing point, and I should think it's still available. Just type 'Midsummer' into the search bar of the world map and it should be the only result that comes up.
