Hey is it just me but has it gotten harder or more confusing to track down the knowledge base?
It use to be we could go there look for certain topics for information now it seems much
harder.
I just wanted the knowledge base wiki articles that use to be connected with forums I can't seem to locate it or what it says is Knowledge base looks like place to do support ticket.
Am I just looking wrong place or what?
Now its confusing, even though I am logged in I am asked for email address even though I am just looking for specific articles not trying to contact LL.
Any suggestions?

Yes. You have to log into the support portal to view the Knowledge Base and Solution Finder. Then you must do a search in the blank box provided for what you are looking for. What are you looking for?

What are you looking for? Yes. I was looking for the area where you search for topic like specfic topics on Land, Animations,etc Why does it seem like I have to file ticket to do search? Why has become more complex? Thanks Gaybot. I was hoping to find some information without having to ask but now I am too tired to look. My brain is frazzled. I try it again later

 I see what you mean when I went to the support portal. It took forever for the page to load, and it says they are having problems with it. Normally you have to log in by clicking a link with your name on it, and then you browse it by clicking links or typing in search phrases. Since it is broken, they are now asking for an email, lol. Waiting till later is definitely a good idea. If it still doesn't work later try logging in as a guest. |

I just wish they hadn't merged the two.
Oh well I guess that how things are sometimes.

Thanks Gaybot. I try again after Thanksgiving. Actually, I'll agree with FD on that. We shouldn't have to log into the support portal just to look at the knowledge base's tutorials. They should be easily available, in a way that doesn't intimidate possible users too. I know when I joined SL, I looked at the tutorials before deciding if it was worth the 10 USD that was required at the time. Maybe tutorials should have their own little pocket on the main webpage.. one that doesn't require a login of any sort to see.

Before I came back after leaving for almost 3 years I remember they had cool tutorial link through main page on Suzanne Vega's guitar.
I never made it but it was really cool to watch.
In 2003 I had no clue how to use any of the tools here so that helped a lot.
I really wish they had made the knowledge base the same and/or bit more cool guides more visible to those who are starting out like few Linden one's made,etc.

And even when you do manage to find the KB the search is pretty close to useless. |
