My group reads (???) (???)

When I click on an object that is group owned, instead of saying "Group Name" it says (???) (???). Things *seem* to function okay. I'm able to build on land that is group owned, and under my group listing, the name is there. I can activate and deactivate it as my current group.

I checked the issues area, and didn't find anything like that, but did decide I should try the usual: clear the cache, upgrade to the latest viewer, reboot and so on.

I hadn't yet upgraded to the latest viewer, and that's another issue...I upgraded, signed on and cleared the cache, checked the group, still the question marks. Signed off, rebooted, then started up my new copy of SL. It just hangs and won't start up so that I have to force quit it.

Finally, just to get onto SL to see if anything had changed, I fired up my copy of kirsten's viewer, and the group is the same under that...question marks.

BTW, I'm on a Mac. I ran disk utility and repaired permissions, but that fixed nothing.

So now in addition to my main group (which is for my rentals...I haven't had any complaints, so assuming everyone is still able to build and such), I can't even start my SL software.

Help, anyone? Please? I'm remaining calm....calm.....

Continue to be calm.

I see this a lot. It's just the databases creaking. It fixes it self in minutes or hours

Oh, thank you! I just signed on with an alt, and my alt can see the group just fine.

Now I have to figure out why my SL software refuses to open. But in the interim, I have Kirsten's viewer and I like it too.

Ooh, ooh, software is opening! I hadn't yet removed the old app icon from the dock and just did that before opening (since it pointed to the old version I dumped). Don't know if that fixed it, or it felt like working now, but it seems to be working.

Remaining calm was an excellent idea. It took deliberation, but I did it. This is a first.
