Logged in and got very excited to see the Green Living Promotion!

So I'm thinking that I will load up my red worm composting tutorial and pics and head on over there to find a spot to set up. (still waiting on the 5k I asked Michelle Obama for, as part of the stimulus plan money being tossed about...thought I could set up some bins near the White House Garden....or even in the White House basement.....mine work fine in the basement....and I'm sure that stimulus money is on the way, soon)....

.....but in the meantime....SL has offered up a Venue for it!

Way to go! I can't wait to get over there and make some connections with some new earthy friends. We can swap garden tips and pics!

Jojo? Will you be moving Etopia over there? Will you be choosing City or Rural land? I'm thinking Rural.

So will Pornoland also be Political Agenda Land? Will there be Cap in Trade on Zindra?
Will ARC be the new Carbon Footprint? Perhaps we'll see AlGore Linden running around?

Well, I'm just brainstorming on how to speed up Michelle on cutting that 5k check for me.....if I lay out the whole plan with detailed pics and descriptions in a kiosk over there in Zindra....then send her the link.....do you think that will help?

That's where the new script limits will be imposed first. Got to preserve SL's finite natural resources.

Mickey, have you tried mismanaging your business to the point of bankruptcy?

Don't forget to stop by the xCite store to pick up a suitably-rated supply of... ah... worms. Yeah! Worms!

I knew there had to be a correlation.............somewhere. :)

But what about the people promoting solar panels and rain water harvesting? Will they fit in?

Seriously....I saw "Green Living"....took an interest, and looked at the map.....checked out the region titles.....then remembered Zindra was the designated adult region.

Someone else coming in here....is not going to know that. I'm curious on how far the Green Living concept in SL is going to be promoted to the general public....and is Zindra the Headquarters.

But what is Green Living as applied to SL?

Fewer people logging in and wasting electricity by being in-world? Certainly the business owners who don't get a free move and are forced to choose between paying a land speculator's extortion prices and going out of business are likely to be logged on far fewer hours, after they close their adult businesses.

I just saw the photo and words Green Living....and assumed it was a new venue designated for education. For about 30 seconds, until it dawned on me. Funny.

Not that you can apply Green Living in SL to your next beach house build....maybe you can.....but more so as a platform for educating on RL applications.

I am totally serious. I breed worms to make compost to garden organically....and I saw it as an educational tool. For about 30 seconds.

Someone doing a google search in a few weeks.....who is already familiar with SL....sees "Green Living in Second Life" show up.....(if they promote it - surely it will show up eventually in a search).....log in with an avatar they haven't used in 2 years.....or join SL for the first time......specifically to explore an opportunity......and they end up in Zindra.

Lovely. Not so funny any more.

I think I see where you are going with this. Some unsuspecting EnviroNerd Hippie Tree Hugger will wind up in Zindra, hugging something totally unexpected. Gotcha.

Well one example is in my Top 5 List for Zindra.

From: someone
Number 5: Plenty of office space to conduct research into new sources of Environmentally-Friendly, Sustainable, and Renewable sources of Orgasms!

No reason sex can't be environmentally friendly too. :)

I am on my 2nd place in Zindra, teleported in from the Linden blog links.

I gotta say it's kind of kewl to see a brand new land, nothing much on it.

I notice it's all parceled out although no land is for sale yet. Is this because they anticipate people buying or trading for those parcels? Or will this remain a Linden build open to the public. Sort of a welcome or help island type of thing.

Right now I am in Shell Beach.

I've seen two other 'humans' so far and neither would say hello. Lol. If it weren't so green it would feel a bit postapocalyptic! *echoes*

Exactly. :)

Which if I understand correctly was one of the points in creating Zindra? To avoid someone coming in for educational purposes being bombarded with "other stuff?" And it is titled with a subheading that would lead someone to believe that there is an educational opportunity there?

Maybe I misunderstood....won't be the first time. I'll go back and reread about 20 threads and a few blogs.

What kills me is the giant hydroelectric dam in the middle of their "green" continent. Shouldn't it be filled with penis shaped wind turbines?

BINGO! That is precisely why Zindra is "Green". They recycled all the servers from those abandoned OpenSpaces sims!

where i saw Green living this came to mind

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

...The chores.
...The stores.
...Fresh air.
...Times Square

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.
