So, I got bored and decided to wander around and explore. I figured I'd pull up the world map and go places where I saw lots of green dots. Maybe I'll find something interesting, or a club, or... hell, I don't know.

9 out of 10 stops were huge collections of bots, just standing in a group, with excessive security around them. I AR'ed a few, but after a while, got sick of it.

So much for the policies...

It's not in LL's interest to crack down on bots because the concurrency numbers are down as it is.

Why would LL care about concurrency numbers? The only numbers to care about are the bottom line, and those numbers are fine.

The odd thing is, I saw this:

https://uncensored.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=1314959&lang=en

Look towards the bottom of the page, there's 7 "common usages" listed, #1 being traffic bots. Why does LL let them get away with selling that (at that outrageous price no less), when traffic bots are clearly not allowed.

As far as AR'ing them, don't bother. I looked back at the blog post regarding traffic bots (everyone things bots are a violation of TOS, but it's not, bots are not even mentioned in it). And the blog post announcing the bot policies clearly states not to AR traffic bots and that they will monitor traffic bots themselves. Sort of odd because they're everywhere an no one seems to be shutting them down. My best advice would be to bring it up at office hour meetings, but I can see that leading to alot of buck passing with everyone (who holds office hours) saying it's not in their area. I'll start bringing it up at meetings and see what comes of it, but don't get your hopes up on that.

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?

Probably for having U2 do a live concert in Second Life resulting in "too many avatars in the sim since we all know good and well nobody actually goes in SL anymore".

bots are ok it seems but dont dare ever having a few camping spots that pay real money to real people as you will cop a final warning for a first offence and yes i had the hide to have 4 campers dancing in my club

It is all a matter of hitting the right Linden. It took one person I talked to 5 weeks to get rid of a bot farm. It took me more than a month (with lots of other people ARing). In the end, I am not sure if the Lindens yelled at the person or if he just decided the land was not worth paying tier since hardly anyone went there. So for all of that the bot farm filled up most of my mainland sim's agent limit for the holiday season, caused massive resource issues for anyone else there, probably canceled a few holiday parties (at least one support group meets there), and did not seem to bring much non-bot traffic to the reseller store it was inflating traffic for.

Jack Linden (the Linden mainland estate manager) has said to file support tickets. The support people (in defiance of Jack and what their own info on it says) will tell you to file an AR and pretty much ignore you when you tell them they got the procedure wrong.

Because concurrency is the number everyone else sees.
