I have recently discovered a somewhat significant problem with the new Land Store- it appears that if you remove an island that you own from the grid (in my case, during a 4-to-1 sim conversion), the Land Store leaves a 'ghost island' in its place, and also creates an unbuildable zone around the area where the island once existed. I have created a Jira for this issue, and I would ask others to please vote for it so it gets some LL attention. Thank you. The Jira is here: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-960Clickable: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-960Full details are provided in the link, but here's an example of what I'm talking about. I own/owned all of the labeled islands in the following image. The ones with gray letters were deleted in December, but still show up on the Land Store map. Blue and Green spaces on the map are buildable, but red spaces are not. You can see that all of the ghost islands are surrounded by no-build zones, which is bad.

I've spoken with a Linden in live-chat about this, a month or so ago. I had removed several OS islands and subsequently went into the landstore for something and noticed that they all still showed on the grid.
The explanation I was given (paraphrasing a bit) was that when they pull the plug on a region, it is 'offline' but it's existance remains, and will continue to remain until that region 'instance' happens to get re-used somewhere else (i.e. they sell it as a new region). Until that time, it exists in its old position and with its old name, but is inaccessable. It was mentioned that these ghost regions ought to go away on their own after a period of time, a few weeks or a month, but over 2 months later, they are still there.
Having said all that, the Linden was helpful enough to manually purge / move / vanish a ghost region that was blocking the way for my future designs.
I suspect that there are now perhaps some 4,000 or more 'ghost regions' scattered around the grid...

From: Atashi Toshihiko The explanation I was given (paraphrasing a bit) was that when they pull the plug on a region, it is 'offline' but it's existance remains, and will continue to remain until that region 'instance' happens to get re-used somewhere else (i.e. they sell it as a new region). That would explain the no-build border; ownership probably reverts to the estate version of Governor Linden, meaning no one else can build there. I was wondering whether this was an isolated situation, but thanks to your reply I know it is not. This needs to be fixed.

One thing that is different is my 'ghost regions' are not blocking me out of the surroundings - only blocking me for the grid-coordinates that it's in. In the image below, #s 1-4 are my existing regions, #s 5 and 6 are regions which were removed in November. The land store will let me build adjacent to the ghosts but not on the ghosts themselves. If I hover my mouse over the #s 5 and 6, it shows the names that the regions had, so I assume that they really do still exist intact but 'offline'. At least, until they get repurposed within LL. -Atashi
