I was at Xstreet at a terminal trying to add lindens to my account when an avie got in the way and i accidentally paid them. The avie won't give me my money back. Does anyone know if i have any course of action to get my money back?

I highly recommend getting the remote deposit gadget. It takes about 10 minutes, but nobody gets in the way.

I love the remote deposit thing! I don't even have to be logged into SL for it now.
I had this happen once, but it was only for L$10. Still, it's annoying. _____________________

I once had someone pay me something like L$50 because my invisible wings accidentally got in the way of a vendor. I gave them the money back and they gave it to me again. Because it "wasn't enough to worry about".
I don't know if they were confused or being really subtle about rewarding me for my honesty. _____________________

Hmm, it's no longer possible to fill your account by paying Exchange Street? I see no mention of the avatar name on XStreet SL, and the profile doesn't appear to have any 'pay me to fill your account' notes in it anymore. That always seemed most convenient/safe to me.

Most of the ATM's I have been to are in desolate places. It just happens like that.
I would not be suprised tho if some SL'ers intentionally try to get in the way when someone is paying an ATM. It sounds like this is what happened... I would say to anybody that if you are going to deposit into one of the ATM's, look on the map and make sure on one is around.... sounds just like doing this in RL doesn't it? |

You could always do some camera-fu and move your camera inside the atm, and click it from there.

I learned to GO SLOW - the box that pops up says who you are paying, so (like many other boxes in SL) it is important to always read it before actually clicking the button. This. READ those blue boxes as annoying as they may be. There is no need to rush. There are people who will go to extraordinary lengths to seperate you from your Lindens. be careful. |

Beware the Remote Deposit thingy says you might experience extreme delays in getting your account credited and to contact Support if 12 hours go by. So I wouldn't use this for shopping, or for currency exchange you want to get rolling right away.

What Brenda said. If the person who got paid was wearing a huge invisible prim stuck to their avatar in a serious attempt to divert payments to them and had a name intended to confuse, you could still report them for attempt to defraud behaviour. If you were simply in a bit of a rush and clicked the wrong avatar over machine and missed the blue message Linden won't get involved. Hope it wasn't too much money. |
