Is anyone else experiencing this? I've found in a couple of places, I have trouble crossing to the neighbouring sim. It looks as if it simply isn't there; all I can see is 'fake ocean', the view you normally get at the edge of the world. The mini-map shows the same. There's no indication that the sim is offline.
In a couple of cases I've banged my face against thin air for a couple of seconds and the new sim has magicked itself into existence. Other times I've walked into void and needed a relog.
The main map isn't showing properly either. When I zoom in all I can see is a grey blur and the sim titles. If I zoom out, I can see a vague outline but no detail.
Does anyone know if this is down to the DNS problems listed on the Linden blog?

This could be to do with the recent "DNS" problems. I have experienced this some months ago when there was a problem with a link to Europe and although the sim was up and running, I could not see it.

I've had the classic sim-crossing problems before... rubber-banding, sinking into the floor, floating off into the sunset etc, but this is a new one on me.

Does anyone know if this is down to the DNS problems listed on the Linden blog? The grey map has been occuring often for me and some of my prims in my house seem to be invisible but I can't walk through them although my friends that have visited were able to see them so I was just thinking it was me. I haven't had the edge of the world experience though, but crossing border sims for me has always been a bit tricky. Sometimes I end up sliding through the ground and dropping like a bowling ball through the air, but that only happens at one location I visit.........so far.

i've seen this. tho not in quite a while.
you can tp to the missing sim. it's there. when you are on the "missing" sim, the neighbors don't show up.
what's missing is the communication between it's server and the server of the neighboring sim.
so you can't walk to it from the neighbors.
i'm sure someone will come along with the tech details.
