I'm looking to make a few linden dollars here and there overtime to pay for some outfits. However, I'm a complete newbie and have no idea where to start. I'm not good at making designs + such, so I have no desire to open up a shop.
Just looking for a few tips + locations I can go to make a few linden dollars every once in a while. =) Thanks so much!

if you want to make big bucks, then sex, if you want to make a nice bit of cash, content creation, scripting, texturing etc, you can place it on Xstreet without having to have a shop, if you want to make next to nothing at all over a period of weeks everything else people may or may not suggest.

Quite honestly the best way to make money when you are new is just to buy some Lindens with your credit card or PayPal. Any way that you can make money in-world when you are new either earns such a pittance as to be not worth your time, or requires a substantial outlay of cash anyhow to outfit your avatar to someone else's standard.
For the price of a movie ticket, you can get about 2500L, which is plenty to keep you shopping for a little while. Then you can explore SL and talk to people and get a feel for what kind of activities you want to undertake in SL, which may or may not earn you money.

^ | That.
Really, the most effective use of your time is to just buy some $L with your credit card or PayPal account...because most SL jobs pay far below a RL minimum wage.
But, maybe you're one of those who wants to "beat the game on its own terms". Some people do...start from scratch, never spend a single real dollar on SL, and wind up as a wealthy (in SL terms, anyway) Big Shot.
Or maybe you'll find something you just love to do, and also find a way to make some money at it. It might be speculating in land, or developing rental property, or being a DJ, or an SL escort. What it it doesn't matter, as long as it's something you enjoy doing.
If you don't enjoy it, then it's just work. Most of us get enough of that in Real Life.

Annna, if you're looking for new outfits, you don't need to pay out for a thing, with some judicious watching of the various freebie blogs out there. Here's just a few of them.: http://slfreestyle.blogspot.com/http://fabfree.wordpress.com/http://chicatphilsplace.blogspot.com/http://slfreebdollarbluckychairhunts.blogspot.com/The last one is an aggregate of most of the freebie blogs out there.

Just looking for a few tips + locations I can go to make a few linden dollars every once in a while. =) Thanks so much! Else, most jobs like dancers/greeters ask that people be 30 to 60 days old first, just so they know the ropes of SL a bit. Also that they have a non "newbie" av. If you want, I can help you with a makeover. Or send you places to go and find some new things for free. I'm offering to go with you but I guess what people sometimes misunderstand when I do that is, I don't *need* to go with you unless you want me to. I offer in case any of that can be helpful to you. There are a lot of freebies to be had now that are current "SL fashion" and not the freebie mall stuff. ETA Oops I see someone beat me to it. Lol. Yes definitely bookmark those freebie blogs. BTW I Agree the easiest and most cost effective way time-wise is to buy Lindens but I know that some people prefer SL jobs because 1. no credit card or paypal 2. they figure they are in SL anyway and not sure where to go so may as well stick in one place and get paid
