I had an idea to help Increase traffic to your store WITHOUT CAMPING, I created a rewards program, like in RL, I know i shop and gas up at the same place just to get airmiles ill never use, this one is better. Stores sign up free (actually I set to 10L cause noobs where taking one for no reason) the kit sis easy to set up, you install the script into your sales boxes, and anyone wearing the membership card gets a discount after paying full price automatically! This will bring them back many times, plus they will always check to see if a member store exists when shopping. And members get a discount..works both ways

I place ads in all SL magazines that are coming out and I market on the website. Try searching SL Rewards in Google, the website is www.secondliferewards.com and theres a TP to the presentation centre.

Another good thing is only card members get the discount average Joe comes in and pays full price so you have nothing to lose!

Sounded good Mike, until I saw that 5% of every sale. That's more than the RL credit card companies...lol

FirstMeta, I think, is only 3.5%.

Don't forget to include to add on the percent discount as well. That's how the model with "membership card" stores eventually operate. Oh, and the collection and alternative use/sale of customer information.

Tell him to reduce it to 0% - then it might have a chance of taking off ;)

NO I don't collect any info there is no information asked for to get a membership at all! And my animations store has kept its same prices all through and offer 20% to members, I have not increased my price at all, otherwise I would be uncompetitive to non members ;). thanks

Yes discounts are offered by the person selling the item, and as for the 0% I'm afraid you get what you pay for I already spent in 2 months over 100,000L in SL advertising and I pay for the website too so I'm afraid 0% not likely ;)

It's a nice idea. In concept it's not far off from offering a commission vendor, those usually pay 15-20% of the sales to the person setting it up. Of course the person getting the commission is doing more 'work' to earn that, so 5% or less doesn't sound that unreasonable, assuming the card actually does boost sales. That's the real question. If people who were going to buy anyway just use it to get a discount, it's not really offering value.

Exactly right, but people coming into the store by just searching wont get the discount only card carrying members who find the store through the website or through marketing SL rewards does. But keep in mind in RL a place that offers Club points or discounts do push people to get one at the cash register because they know it builds loyalty and will get them to come back.

"... card carrying members..."

/me blinks. "I am not now, nor have I ever been..."

Anyway... this idea of not collecting data kinda defeats the point of a "loyalty" program, in my book. I mean, there would be value-added to merchants to have an OLAP-browsable database of who's purchasing what, when, and where within that merchant's set of stores. The big guys all have that already, of course, and wouldn't want that data out there where somebody else might search it, but smaller merchants might be willing to part with a slice of revenue in order to get ready access to their own sales data.

Otherwise... I suppose there might be some small gain in repeat shopping (though I'd sure want hard data to support that, before I agreed to a cut of the take)... and maybe some "chain" effect (though personally, I'd want more control over which other merchants were in the chain). But, maybe, for some merchants, if there were data to support it.
