Is it possible to mute an object so that no one on your land can hear it?

My neighbour has abandoned R2D2 up in the clouds above his/her land and he is cheerfully bleeping and chirping away all the time. He's very nice, in his R2D2 sort of way, but the noise gets a bit tiresome _all_ the time.
I have muted the object so I can't hear it, but visitors to my land and shop can hear the bleeping and twittering all the time - and they must wonder what is making it. Does anyone know of a way to prevent the sound encroachment across the land parcels?

I think it might be "Restrict Spacial Sounds to this Parcel" under the About Land tab, but I'm not 100% sure on this working.

From: Raudf Fox I think it might be "Restrict Spacial Sounds to this Parcel" under the About Land tab, but I'm not 100% sure on this working. I had a similar problem not long ago and this is the correct solution.

That might work, but then you couldn't listen to any music either on your parcel. Can't you return it to your neighbor?

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook I think I'd just AR the thing. If the object owner is the same as the land owner, the Lindens won't touch it.

Never had a problem with objects on my land playing sounds. It's supposed to keep my sounds from straying, but it seems to work both ways. And it doesn't affect streamed audio at all.

Thanks people - I'll try the Restrict Spacial Sounds when I can login again.
The object is sited above my neighbour's parcel and belongs to him/her - I'm just not sure whether the problem is that I haven't restricted spacial sounds on my parcel, or my neighbour has not on theirs, or both.

You only need to restrict the sounds on your side and you will have peaceful quiet again. And your own sounds and music will still work just fine.
