Flying problems

I love collecting vehicles..... especially flying ones. The main problem I have is you can't fly low to the ground without the fear of hitting a closed off parcel and getting ejected into the ground and your vehicle sent back to your L&F. Not only that... usually my avatar is so screwed up I have to relog.

What's the point of buying flying vehicles if there is no where safe to fly?

So why am I posting this?

Are there any places that are flyer friendly? If so..... where? I just want to fly :-)

Thanks.

There are a few out there. Any open water sim (NOT the void sims between continents) is good for flying, and I believe Dogfight Atoll is still around. Also, check Abbott's Aerodrome (I think that's the name) for a fun place to fly.

JSA airport is pretty good. I cant remember how many available sims that are open, but they have a map that shows all the sims that are adjoining the runway that are open. I usually rez my plane there and go exploring.
I have owned a few different planes and I settled on a Terra Drop ship. Plus, I can take friends up, and they get a really neat view :-) I do skydive in SL too, so its perfect. The thing I like about it, I can slow down to a hover as I cross sims and it seems to make the crossing smoother. I find if I tear across borders really fast, thats when I tend to have the most problems.

So your final Nimbus Score is 8.15, a quite remarkable achievement for a biped. Congratulations Crunch, you should be very proud. :-)

Get one of these, I fookin' love it: http://koreshan.blogspot.com/2008/01/curio-obscura.html It's a worn attachment, rather than an actual vehicle, so you won't be kicked off if you hit a restricted parcel. And it's fun fun FUN!

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

The answer is simple enough. Just keep your aircraft higher than 50 M above ground level. Barnstorming and buzzing the roofs of people's homes will get you crashed. Flying at an acceptable height won't.

Thanks to complaints just like yours from owners of flying vehicles, no parcel access controls work more than 50 M above the terrain, except for explicit-by-name bans. We can't control access to skyboxes or even to the upper floors of a building on the ground that has a basement, without resorting to a scripted security system. Flyers have already co-opted the access control rights of land-owners to 90% of their airspace. Be satisfied with what you have.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

WOW you sound so negative. I wasnt really complaining per say.... just wondering if there was a place were we could fly LOW to the ground where it's more FUN. I got my answers. No need for the lecture thank you.

if you are pretty good at the controls, you could try following some of the governor linden protected land strips peppered throughout SL.

i found a railroad station that is LL created once. that was cool.

Perre's immense tower seems a good bet. Jump it before it gets destroyed.

We have a launcher on top of the Mount Olympus Club at Lebettu.

Maybe we should have a Forum Skydiving Party?

As for hitting banlines in flight...it's a real problem, even in a slower vehicle like a helicopter. If you fly in some of the larger private estates though, you may never encounter banlines, since many estate owners don't allow them.
