I have a new macbookpro (1 month old) and my avatar appears Dark now! in my old macbookpro it was ok.
what is the problem? can anyone help?

I'm guessing different settings in Edit / Preferences / Graphics. Click on "Custom" and see if anything looks unexpected... such as, perhaps, Nearby Local Lights, which you may want to turn on (especially if you wear attached lights).

Enable "Anti Aliasing Gamma Correction" in your Nvidia control panel (Manage 3d settings - either change the global settings or specify a profile specifically for SL on the program tab). Also set Anti Aliasing to "application controlled" if it's not already. Launch SL ->preferrences->graphics->hardware options.. enable 2x antialiasing. Because of all that, now the gamma adjustment option will be ungreyed and you now can raise or lower the gamma level of SL without affecting your whole desktop brightness, OR messing around with your monitor settings all the time.

Maybe it's the atmospheric rendering. I think the OP was able to get windlight on the new computer and it's making the avatar full of shadows and such.  |
