For days now I have not been able to go into my inventory :( Every time I try to change clothes, or even look for something in my inventory I crash.
It says it is "LOADING" constantly, never foing above about 1300 items, even tho I have over 14,000. I installed new drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and checked the things I know how to check, but nothing works. Also, if I am lucky enough to be able to TP someplace new, I am walking in place, and then I crash. Please, can anyone tell me what the problem might be, are them some new settings I need, or anything? Everything was fine up untill about a week ago. Oh, another thing, when I land, I tend to walk off into space...through walls, etc. I am not a happy camper !

Reset your router/modem.
Clear your cache.
Check your firewall/AV settings.

It sounds like you never fully connect.

Running a trace route might give you some info.

You can run a trace route to the sim - the url is shown in Help - like say sim123.agni.lindenlab.com

In Windows: Start then Run.... you'll get a window - type 'cmd' in there then hit enter. A command window will open.

Type tracert and the sim url then hit enter.

Copy all the resulting text and post it (you can leave out any personal info).

Another thing you can try is to delete the setting.xml file in case something in it is preventing you from connecting right. That's in different locations for each different OS -in XP it's in Docs&Settings/user/AppData/SecondLife.

OP: if you've never tried to copy text from the cmd window before, it doesn't work like normal Windows copy functions.

Once you've completed the tracert, right-click the window and click 'Mark' in the popup menu. Then left-click and drag a selection around all of the text you want to copy (anything that's not highlighted won't be copied; cmd mark text won't automatically reach to the end of a line if you don't drag it all the way over there) and then hit the Enter key to copy it.

Incidentally, you don't need to be logged in to SL to get your sim's URL. Some time ago I found a useful site that has data on every sim inworld. Just append your sim name to the end of this URL:

Starting with the first "SanJose" address you're starting to run into some pretty good latency and high ping times.

Does that mean her problems are all caused by that?
Is there anything useful she can do if that's the case?
