Groups are dead, the friendlists are nuts, doesnt show the people, even you IM them!
Name field stays simply BLANK...
The group chats are broken and so on...

It was like that for me yesterday but it's been fine again today. Maybe best to just clear your cache and hope for a better day tomorrow. Here's hoping!

I'm not being flippant, it's quite likely it's just a passing thing.

It wouldn't hurt to make sure your home network is not causing the problem. Try resetting any cable modems, routers, or any other network devices you may have. Power everything off, wait about 30 seconds, then turn them back on one at a time starting with the modem and working back towards the computer.

Before I write such a post, I always test my set up! And its not only ME! I hear that from any corner in SL I move to...

I do wonder if it's a network thing.

I have to access Second LIfe from work (and how much fun is THAT!!).
Our IT dept has opened the required port and I can connect. I have administrator access. However, my groups aren't there, I get logged out upon teleporting, profiles and landmarks don't work.
(landmarks have no image and it says something about waiting for the server upgrade)

I ran the system through http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and passed. The video card is BARELY passable, though.

This happened on Friday (I logged in from home not long later and all was fine). I have to go back into the lab later this afternoon, in case it WAS SL, but something tells me that there is something else interfering.

I'm stumped.

*bump* because I'm about to head down to the lab.

ANY other ideas why groups might not appear (just says "none" under groups) or LM don't load?
Inventory is fine.

B.

Is it the same in any sim?

Well, this might have something to do with the prolonged birthing period for the new server version. Dunno. But Prospero said this yesterday: 'The increased database load was something in the sim code. We know this because it started when we put the sims on 1.25, and it stopped when we took the sims off of 1.25. We previously tried taking some central nodes (logins, back-end web-ds machines) off of 1.25 to see if that made the load go away, but it didn't. Some of the central nodes are still on 1.25-- and that's the likely source of the "missing name" problem.'

LL has to keep slogging ahead, but there's no way to fully test things because only under the sheer massive weight of SL's main grid will problems come out.

But of course it might be unrelated to that. /me runs away.
