This has been an on again and off again problem that is bugging me. I have tried to search in the forums but not finding anything.

I am set to edit a few peoples objects. I am also in their group etc. Well lately it is a hit or miss if I can edit or move their stuff. And when I right click their items everything in edit is grayed out. One of the friends rezzed a regular box and had me try to move it but nothing.

Was able to last week and then Friday and Saturday of course not then Sunday morning was able to but Sunday afternoon and the is morning nope. I have checked with them and I still have edit rights or whatever.

I have cleared cache installed the new viewer totally uninstalled everything and reinstalled again.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is that they didn't set the object for anyone to move. There is a box in General under edit that needs to be checked to allow others to move their objects. I would double check that first and see if that works.

I know the edit window sometimes comes up blank when I try to check prim counts or the creator's name on other people's items but, if I leave the edit window open, then right-click and choose Edit again, it'll show. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it, and I can't guarantee that it'll do anything in your situation, but it's worth trying.

I'd be inclined to blame SL borkiness myself, especially after the last couple of weeks.

I don't recall that being necessary the last time I gave someone edit permissions.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Sounds like you have "select only my objects" selected.

But it's intermittent. It would never work if that was the case.

I actually don't know of any other way, I am still new at some things.....besides giving perms in a group, and setting object to move by anyone, what other way can you allow someone to move your objects?

You can give individuals edit rights via your friends list.

The thing about the UI is that's it's incredibly rich territory. So many things - useful things - are there, including lots not generally used. Getting to know the UI is rewarding - and exploring it turns us all into versions of Magellan Linden :-D
