There are some forums I do not wish to read all the time... is there a way to disable them when using the "New Posts" option?

Why must you read any forum you don't want to?
I don't have any subscriptions or "notify me of new posts" options ticked. I have to manually access any forum I want to look at.

I don't have any subscriptions or "notify me of new posts" options ticked. I have to manually access any forum I want to look at. Same here, I look at each thread and decide if I want to read it. But since I generally don't go near most of the building, scripting, creating forums, it is fairly easy for me.

Its not that I have to read the actual forum, but... the same post in 16 different forums regarding spaces at a new mini mall or rental land posted several times a day... I just get tired of seeing the headers. I don't need rental property (store or home) info on a daily basis and would like to turn those off.

It is annoying when that happens, and plenty of people do use the 'New Posts' link to catch up here. It saves wasting time trawling individual forums manually. Unfortunately I believe a feature like this can only be enabled with a vbulletin hack. SLU has an area in the user's control panel where you can select which forums to ignore, I believe for exactly this reason (possibly to cope with refugee chat besides the product advertisement issue).
