Black / coloured boxes following my cursor around in SL!

Suddenly in SL (latest version) my cursor arrow has little black/coloured boxes underneath it as I move it around. It's like a block directly under the arrow with a smaller turquoise box next to it - the boxes kind of flicker as I move the cursor around the screen.

Cursor is fine everywhere else - only have this issue in SL.

I'm using a Mac G5 (PPC) with OSX 10.4.11

Can anyone help?

I have tried restarting / emptying cache etc.

Thanks

you've accidently pressed a short cut key stroke, I don't know which one, but someone will eventually come to your aide here.

There's a keyboard shortcut for "enable weird little box to follow my cursor"???

A screenshot couldn't hurt.

no it doesn't - on a Mac there's none of this pointer options stuff - and anyway pointer is totally unchanged and normal in every respect apart from SL.

Post a screen shot... this could be a bug in SL, a graphics glitch in your video card or OpenGL drivers, or a configuration problem.

Also, your system specs (model, speed, RAM, video, etc...).

If you're using any hacks (Unsanity's APE, SIMBL, Plugsuite, etc) try disabling them for SL.

Hi - no hacks in use - DP 2.3 Powermac G5 from 2005 (4gb DDR ram, non express slots version)
ATI Radeon 9650 graphics card.

Impossible to do a screenshot - i tried! But it's like a flickery black box with a tiny turquoise box kind of next to it. It is definitely some graphical glitch. The box follows the cursor but not as a trail, directly underneath it as you move the cursor (and it's flickering as it moves). It's not there when cursor is still.

I use a MacBook Pro and have not encountered anything like this. You might get better responses if you post your question in the SL Mac Discussion forum.

In addition to posting in the Mac forum, you might try joining some in-world Mac groups and asking there.

One such group is "Macintosh Users", which shows 2651 members.

What did you try when trying to take a screenshot?

Complete shot in the dark here, but you don't by any chance have Edit / Preferences / Input & Camera / Joystick Setup / Enable joystick clicked on, right?

(And just to be sure: This isn't in Mouselook, right? And it happens whether in full-screen or windowed mode, right?)
