Return hard-to-find objects?

Hello, I have a Return Objects question.

Some objects are tiny and very hard to find, especially if they are lost underground or high in the air. Is there a way to return all objects that belong to a particular owner, by e.g. temporarily ejecting him from the group? The problem is that the objects themselves still seem set to the correct parcel group, even if the owner is no longer a member.

Naturally I don't want to return any other people's objects in the process.

If you are an owner member of the group then yes you can...

get the about land dialog up, select objects and click refresh list.

A list of AV names with prim counts appears.

Click on the AV name you want to return the objects to, then click on return objects.

It will ask you if you are sure you want to return that resident's objects, click OK and they are returned.

Exactly as Bee recommends.

However, I would use this course of action only as a measure of last resort. Objects returned that way get "coalesced" into clusters of objects, no matter how they have been grouped before.

If you just select the object owner's name in the land dialogue box, all objects belinging to that resident will be highlighted in white. This makes it much easier to find them.

Good luck!

If you want to be nice, you can also use Scan Foo (a fairly reasonably priced gadget) to scan the area around you for objects belonging to a specific avatar. As it finds them, you can ask it to point to them so you can locate and return them.

Actually, return is no longer needed. If you "Delete" an item from your land that does NOT belong to you, it just gets returned anyway. That was a change listed in one of the recent updates.
