Please can anyone help me find my snow emitter?

I rez'd a snow emitter (getting into the Christmas spirit...) It is just a small, almost transparent ball - and I inadvertently let go of it whilst editing it into position. Now I can't see it - I have tried using show transparent and tried to use beacons - but that confused me as I kept seeing beacons on neighboring land and the perspective threw me - so I am probably not doing things the best way. I tried for hours yesterday but can't seem to find it. I know it is there because snow is falling - but not where I want it to fall!

Please can anyone suggest how to locate this object without having to move or remove everything else in the area?

Try to do an edit drag, open edit box, click on one corner of your screen and drag tothe other corner, go to tools first and click seclect only on objects. If you cant find it that way, ask the sim owner to searh it in scripts and return it to you. or drop me an im in world..i'll come play hide and seek with it :)

Hi Deira, I think I'd disable camera restraints Cntrl/Alt/C and show invisible Cntrl/Alt/T and move the camera to a birds eye view of your land looking down. This should show you where it is but you'd still need the drag/edit suggested or go into wireframe mode which I cannot remember where that is.

Turning on *just* the "Particle Sources" beacon should narrow it down pretty quickly, unless the neighborhood is full of particle sources--which seems unlikely.

(Wireframe is Control-Shift-R, from the Client / Rendering menu.)

if you haven't found it yet, go to the spot where it is snowing, and scan under there, using the methods described by other posters. unless its one of those emitters that you can set to snow on one side while it sits on another.......

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Any chance it is underground? To turn off land rendering, click 'Client' at the top of the screen (If you don't have that option, click control-alt-D to bring it up), then 'Rendering' > 'Types' > 'Surfacepatch'. You will of course also need to ensure you have 'Highlight Transparent' checked. Repeat the above to bring the land back.

Yep, the same "drag to select" thing in the Editor, just over the spot where the device is lurking. Usually works best with Tools / Select Only My Objects checked. (Don't forget to uncheck it later, or much head-scratching may result!)

Thanks Guys :) Got the little thing back now! So pleased I didn't have to dismantle the entire building! It is now gently snowing on the skating rink and not in the shop - and I can use my newly learnt skills to find the butterfly emitters before the snow kills them off!

I think I deserve a cup of coffee now - and maybe even some pie :) Thank you all for your help again.
