start/stop moive to disk????

Can someone PUuleeasse help me?
I am trying to record SL,but can not seem
to find a tutuorial, or directions on the use
of 'File" 'start/stop movie to disk'

I click on the 'start/stop Movie to Disk and save to 'Desktop'
...but then try to 'play' the movie part I just made.??
and NO go?

Please? What am I doing wrong?

they broke this feature after the release of the 19.0.0.0 client . Ive been waiting on it to be fixed.

There are many good recorders and some, like CamStudio, are free. I use Fraps, mostly, but HyperCam and Camtasia are regarded highly by others.

To my knowledge, the official stance is that since pretty much everybody used external 3rd party tools anyway, it isn't worth the effort to fix, so don't hold your breath.

I know they have been refusing to fix it for Mac for many months. If it broke recently for Windows too, they will likely just remove it entirely, rather than fix it. The stated reason for not fixing it for Mac was the ready availability of external tools that did it better.

Thanks all I appreciate your help and will investigat the other resources :o)

I am sooo glad it was not something I was doing wrong or missing some little thing that
would let everyone know how non-tech I am .....hahaha
