Hi guys and girls : ). I have created my alt. BUT.... am worried as i dont thik i created her correctly? lol. i think i just did it thru join now? but am walking around with NPIOF. and have not been charged the 9.95 for her. I guess at least my post proves i am not misleading LL with a feebie account lol. I want to do the right thing! : ) I did send a ticket with my last alt to LL but didnt get a reply, thats understandable with all the heaadaches they (and us) are going thru *bangs her head against keyboard* Help anyone PUHLEEZE!!! step by steps to creating many alts LOL xxxxxxxxxxx

They really need to remove that info about a 9.95 charge for alts....it seems this question comes up at least once a week. As if some happenings in SL were not frustrating enough, to have misinformation on the official website is pretty bad.

It may be that they have left it there deliberately in order to discourage people making alts. Even if it only works on a tiny percentage of people, LL may consider it to be worthwhile.

I use paypal on mine, but all my alts use the same paypal account. I used to have two of them on CC and it worked fine. LL has been having issues with their CC billing, maybe just call the billing dept. and they can fix it for you. I've had to call them twice this past month for billing issues and they fixed it right away.

It may be a temporary issue with that credit card service. I have half my accounts on my credit card, and half on my PayPal account. Sometimes I wouldn't be allowed to use PayPal, and I had to use the credit card. You may want to open a PayPal account for your alt and use that...
There's no hard limit to how many alts can be on a given payment method, or how many alts a given real person can have. They do limit some e-mail services (I think that HotMail accounts don't work at all, for example). And some of the specialized community sign-ups require a seperate e-mail address for each account.

I think it may be a temp billing department problem? I submitted a ticket a while back, but havent heard back as of yet.
I pay my alt thru my main constantly..she spends money like there's no tomorrow LOL.
I will have another go at my payment details. TY everyone x

Just don't pay your alt too much or the warning alarms will ring at the LindenLab and they'll lock out both accounts.

Please don't pay your alt too many L$ in the early days of its existence. If you do, all sorts of anti money laundering alerts could go off at LL and get both accounts locked down immediately. What is a command line? The only thing I could come up with is under "Properties", then Shortcuts" is a line called "Target"and ended up like this: "C:\Program Files\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate.exe" --set SystemLanguage en-us-multiple. If it helps I use Windows XP. |

OK I have a question. I have one alt already, and I want to make more, but when I try it tells me My email address is already used, and wont let me, same thing with my name.
Is there a special way to make an alt for your existing avi without going through the whole process of creating a new account?
