How to get abandoned land?

There is some abandoned land on the sim where I have a parcel (ex ad-farm, now owned by the Governor). I am interested in it because I need more prims. It's not up for auction.

Is it worth filing a support ticket asking to buy it?

You can try. Although most of these will go back into auction, I have heard where others have been successful in getting the land sold to them.

I'll be just as happy if that prompts them to put it up for auction at last. Anything's better than the land just sitting around unused.

File a support ticket.

State the fact you own the surrounding land and your intended use. Include the exact coordinates.

I have had great success in getting land like this that I surrounded on at least 3 sides and the land was 64 m2 or less. Over 64m2 and it usually will go to auction.

This will hasten the auction process at the least.

Goos luck!

could try to drop Guy Linden a notecard asking for it along with the exact cordinates of the abandoned land and your land and hope he would put it on sale for you :)

just make sure to name the notecard something like "abandoned land sale - yourname" so it doesn`t looks like spam ;)

You can file a ticket through the support portal asking to purchase the parcel as long as you meet the requirements. I received the following from a Linden during a support chat, it spells out exactly what is required for the parcel to be sold to a resident.

-----

In order for us to sell a parcel directly to a resident, 3 conditions must be met:

1. The land must already be owned by the Governor

2. The parcel must be 512m or smaller.

3. The resident requesting must own land bordering on at least 3 sides of the parcel in question.
