Is the forum better than the sl world itself?
If so - why?
Is it because we are so much more witty and intelligent than the yahoos?

Ok Goddamnit, that's enough! What have you done with the real Jig? The thoughtful, inquisitive one, that annoyed us so much?

If enough of us report it as such maybe we can resolve this problem once and for all. It's gone on too damn long. I'm sorry for all the legitimate threads that have been pushed to the second page that will now no longer be answered.

Every post that is not a request for help or an answer to such a request has that effect. Every "me too", every "look at me", "every tra la la", every make up name of people in the clique thread pushes support requests down where they don't get seen.

This one is not particularly special in that respect.

You are correct. This "ONE" is not special in that respect. Look at the entire first page.

Suezanne does have a point. Our conversion to permanent off-topic forum is well underway.

I almost started one the other day in a fit of sarcasm for all the content creators to just post and say "buy my stuff" so they can quit soliciting friends and alts to start "who makes the best...." threads.

The tide has changed - time to learn to surf.

Why aren't you having more fun inworld? Is it because you don't have a fairly captive audience there? There are tons of clubs that could use you to create conversation, and won't care if you are off-topic.

Forums allow for asynchronous conversation, that's one reason why it's easier to have a certain type of typed conversation in the forums than in the SL client.

This forum allows for multiple line text entry, making it fairly easy to compose a thought that's longer than 50 characters. That's one reason why forums are better than inworld chat.

Depending on your browser, you mean be able to do stunts like highlight a word and have a page of search results in a new tab in the forums. Another point in favor of forums.

Forum chat is not only asynchronous it's also persistent. You can search for stuff from years ago, and much of it is still there. You can log IMs inworld but there is no search and retrieve system built into the interface. Plus your logging only occurs when you have the client open, so it's not complete.
