I passed someone's house/shop recently and a green message came up where chat normally does, saying "Welcome, Keava Vita,. blah, blah, blah". OK - so I am wondering if there is a product out there that I could put near the entrance of my house which would say high to people entering, BUT also keep a record of who came in and when? I could then check this out when I came on line. I'm not worried about people entering my home - just like to know who and when  p.s. A thousand thanks to all who post replies to threads in these forums!! Really, I learn more by reading in here than I do from "official" Knowledge Bases!!! |

Just do a search for visitor counter. There are many many different ones out there. You can probably find a free one if you look deep enough.

Those visitor counters you run into all save the names and times of the AV's who come through. You can get one easily. It will record all the info for you and just click it when you logg back in.

There's a free visitor counter at NCI (New Citizens, Kuula - they have it as an object you rez and also in the free scripts boxes in their freebie vendors). You might also look for "avatar detector".
Generally free ones don't list the times, because LSL's (Linden Scripting Language's) timebase handling is such a pain, lol. I do have an avatar detector that also lists times and does a few other things ... you don't want that version. If you IM me inworld I can send you NCI's free visitor counter, or (if you don't find what you need) work something out to modify the detector I have.
p.s. having a visitor counter welcome everybody it sees could be a pain, so most don't. It is trivially easy to add though! If you want me to modify a visitor counter script to do that, I can dash that off for free. But, you might want to use a welcome mat for that - there are very nice free ones that speak up when they're stepped on. I can send you one if you want - again, IM me.
