I can take the HUD out of my inventory. Do a ctl alt T and i can see it and edit it with no problem, all the functions work. I attach it to the HUD but it stays where I put it for editing. It ends up my lost and found in a day or 2.

Lost and Found?
I believe you have to drop it rather then detach it, to drop it on the ground someplace and have it end up in Lost and Found. As far as I know. _____________________

Instead of dragging the HUD item out of your inventory, right click on it and select Attach to HUD and select a location to attach it. This way, you'll actually be wearing it rather than dropping it on the ground somewhere.

when I do this i still cannot see the controller, even when I do ctr alt T Sometimes HUDs attach off screen, especially if the creator meant for it to be in one area and you attach it elsewhere. If you haven't already, try using other attachment points and see if it shows up. _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

if you cannot see it, try attching it to different parts of the hud.
im sure one of them will eventually be visible to you. if the one that works happens to be in an inconvennient place (like the middle of the screen), you can right-click>edit it and the move arrows will appear, then you can move it to a corner or whatnot. it possible that wherever youre attaching it is off-screen and thus invisible. you can zoom out on the hud layer to find these attachments and move them further in screen.. _____________________

Okay, I'm gonna try to think this out...
First question: Is the HUD copyable? In other words, when you look at it in your inventory, does it say " no copy)"? If not, then it is copyable. If it is copyable, keep reading. If not, skip to the end. It sounds like you are saying that you: (1) Dragged the HUD from your inventory out into the world ("rezzed" it). The important part here is that you have just rezzed a COPY of the HUD. The one still in your inventory is a different copy. (2) Edited the rezzed copy of the HUD. This edited the copy rezzed inworld, but did not affect the copy still in your inventory. (3) Left the rezzed copy of the HUD on the ground (you did not "take" it back into your inventory after editing). (4) Attached/wore the inventory copy of the HUD. Because this is an entirely separate copy of the HUD, it does not affect the copy you left rezzed inworld... so the one on the ground is still sitting there on the ground. (5) The place where you are doing this has auto-return turned on (and it's not your land), or the owner manually returned the rezzed HUD. Either way, the rezzed copy of the HUD (the one you edited) goes to your Lost & Found folder. ----- Of course if it isn't copyable, the above obviously isn't the problem. But either way, one question is why isn't it showing up after you attach/wear it. I would say it's either (a) you aren't actually attaching it, or (b) it IS attached, but is positioned off the screen. Read back a week or two in the forums if you think the problem is (b)... I remember someone had this problem recently, and a good solution was provided for getting the HUD back to the viewable portion of the screen. And just in case the answer is (a), it might help if you give us a detailed account of what is happening so we can figure out where you are going wrong. ![]() |

I couldn't find the recent "hidden HUD" thread, but here is one from a few months ago that has the method for retrieving HUDs that have gotten moved off-screen:
