That is one of the movies I am waiting to see. I love myself some Bruce Juice.
The film is a good premise. If we could allow our avatars to take care of our daily activities what would we clear them to do? Mine would need to walk the pug, answer phones and take the subway. I will eat in SoHo and catch kool films. _____________________

Based on the graphic novel it says. What graphic novel is that? The concept reminds me a lot of David Brin's "Kiln People." That book had me wishing fervently for several real life avatars.
I heard a science podcast recently that discusses the possibility of this happening soon. There is already a company who offers a kind of mobile teleconference device that can go out on the city streets and into the office for you. The price is in the fancy sports car range - prohibitive to me, but doable. Currently the device doesn't look remotely human I hear. _____________________

Making such extremely realistic robots are a high priority in Japan. Look there for what is to come. |

OMG. What happened to Bruce Willis's HAIR????? ![]() It was wandering in direction of his mouth to be able to catch some food - occasionally. Especially since his hair heard about the benefits for hair, given by caffeine . Caffeine Shampoo is *the* trend this year. But Bruce doesn't use shampoo, so: in result his hair moved in direction his coffee-port. And see: it is growing there like palm-trees around an oasis. |

Making such extremely realistic robots are a high priority in Japan. Well, making extremey realistic FEMALE robots, anyway. Yes indeed, when we finally get to the "Surrogates" stage of robotics, we'll find that RL is exactly like SL: 80% of people will run female 'selves'. _____________________

Here's my surrogate: http://www.chooseyoursurrogate.com/vsi/index.html?uid=1&mId=31605815.2 or if that doesn't work perhaps this: http://tinyurl.com/ydqe27y
The US female voices are not nearly as good as the others, hence the UK accented voice. _____________________

That was way cool. I tried it with a high school photo of myself (my keyboard guy rather). Yes, they did have photographs back then.

They don't seem to be able to handle ferrets.

I saw Surrogates this weekend. It's a pretty depressing world IMO. People are pretty much plugged into their Surrogates all the time, only unplugging to eat and sleep. A very negative message about what a society can become with that kind of technology.

I'd like one to help me do stuff, not do it all for me. I like experiencing things for myself, so I guess what I'd have the surrogate do the dishes, laundry and clean the cat litter boxes. I might have them help me in jobs requiring two people to accomplish...

I was thinking Marionettes Incorporated but then I cut my teeth reading Bradbury's short stories. |
