Hello

How do I go swimming? Do I need an animation? Are there 'swimming' sites?. Whenever I go near water I seem to sink !

There are attachements that make your avatar swim when it goes into Linden water. It's similar to an AO but often it's attached like a HUD. I have one called SLwim. I think it's around $250 and if you do a search for the word SLwim you should find it. There may be better ones out there. SLwim worked great before Havok 4 and it works OK now.

Hi thee asap to Siggy Romulus' store, Waterworks, where you can buy the latest version of his Swimmer HUD. It lets you swim and float in Linden or prim water and includes a few dives too. It's really fun and I love it. I had a SLwim HUD at first but IMO this one is better.

Aes...thanks for the pointer. I just picked that product up. Unfortunately, my swimming pool's water prim is marked as no modify and I can't use the script that comes with it that makes prim water swimmable! I haven't tried the HUD attachment that lets me swim in Linden water yet.

Yep. I was going to suggest The Swimmer too. The prim water script is copy and transfer and I drop it into all our prefab builds that have water. You can add your own swim and dive poses too with minimal effort.

Jackie - take a prim that is the same size as the no mod prim in your pool (IM me if you need megaprims - I have a whole set and can help you out). If you make that prim transparent and at just barely above the water prim that is no mod - you can still get the illusion of it and it'll work - and just by adding one single prim to your land.

I found the Waterworks Alpha layer in their swimmable water product and laid that on my existing pool. Everything works fine now. Thanks!

I like Kamilah Hauptmann's swim wedge. It rezzes multiple wedges, so it's great for leaving at the poolside as all your guests can go swimming, even if they don't have their own AO. It comes with a prim you rez and set to the desired water level (or just leave it at default 20 metres) without any need to modify your prim water. Has a cute diving animation, too.
