What video processor do you have in it?

What version video drivers are you using?

I'm seeing HP Pavilion dv6000's showing as having an nVidia GeForce Go 7200.

Is there some view or advanced setting that disables avatar visibility?

Yes, there is.

Advanced Rendering Types Character, or the keystroke is Control Alt Shift 4 .

Thanks, we did go through all the advanced settings to no avail. I suggested downloading the RC or newest viewer, but seems they can't login except with SLim? [2009/02/07 21:26] Parisian Skytower: Second Life 1.21.7 (105513) Dec 11 2008 16:22:42 (Second Life First Look SLim)

Slim is a text only client, isn't it?

Yanno, I think you are correct.

https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=5615

This means that the user only logs in on SLim viewer to setup the SLim functions. I bet the OP changed password as suggested to use SLim and the reason the other viewers will not work is that the password/login name will not match? I did tell them to use RC or newest rev of viewer to access other than SLim viewer but they said it would not connect.

I have this problem when i am on the air card connection, which is very slow, well I get like a ball of light moving around where the avies are supposed to be, but when on my normal broadband connection at home everything is fine so i am guessing it is the same problem. your internet connection being to slow.
