Hello -- I'm still really new to SL and slowly but surely learning how to do things. orry if this is a really simple question but I'm getting so frustrated.

I recently bought some beach property and created a home for me and my SL/RL hubby. I decided to bring the oceanfront up closer to our house, and bought an ocean sounds/animations package to add waves and such to make it more realistic. Here's my issue: I grabbed the wave item out of my inventory and dropped it into the ocean to set it, but it showed up floating up in the air. I figured out how to grab the waves and move them down to on top of the water, but they're facing the wrong way (waves rolling away from our land, not toward it). There is no way for me to grab it to right-click "edit" and get the rotation options to show up. The little box that the waves are generated from is literally pinhead-sized and invisible, so I can't find it anywhere in the water to right-click it NOR can I figure out how to just delete these altogether. Help?

Ctrl-Alt-t or View > Highlight Transparent should turn the wave prims red so you see them to edit. You may also have to cam under the water to actually grab them. When you're done, use the same keys to get rid of the red.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Press ctrl-alt-T to show transparent prims. They will show up as a kind of see-thru red color. You can also select prims by click dragging your mouse to form a selection box. Anything under that box will become selected. I'm not sure how you are set up with your tools menu so you might want to be close to where you dropped the prim. You can also hold down alt to move your camera around to zoom into things.

In the top menu under Tools make sure that Select Only My Objects, Select by Surrounding, and Select Hidden Objects all have an X next to it - if not, select that menu item to turn it on. Click the Build tab to turn building on and select the Edit button. Then holding your left mouse button down move your cursor diagonally over the part of the ocean where you put the wave. That will select any objects belonging to you within the highlighted area.

In the Edit window, go to the Edit tab and use the Rotate boxes to turn your wave object to the correct direction.

the wavemaker is also a scripted object. turn on beacons. It should be the only scripted object in your ocean.

Thanks! Finally for them fixed and they look much better. I wonder if I'll finally get all of this by the time I hit 5 years on there? LOL!
