Question on calling cards

Last night I was chatting with someone and instead of sending me an invitation for friendship he gave me his calling card, which I thought was nice since I wasn't 't interested in adding him to my friends list, but may want to contact him again in the future. I tried this myself a while later, but could not figure out how to get my own calling card to give out. I then tried experimenting with a friend and found I could not drop a calling card from someone else in my friends list on her avitar. Any ideas how this is done?

You need the person to be in view, then you right-click on their avatar and select 'give card' from the pie menu :) (It might be a couple of clicks in, like More > Give Card. Not sure ATM and I'm alone inworld so I can't check.)

It is More>Give card. Very easy to do. If someone is on your friends list, they already have your card, as a calling card is automatically exchanged when Friendship offer is accepted.

I don't think it's possible to give out someone else's calling card, only your own.

Correct. You can only give your own card, not any of those you collected. Which is REALLY annoying when you're setting up a new alt, and have to repopulate your list of calling cards and Friends!

I really wish we could embed a calling card in a notecard. Even if it wouldn't transfer to the card recipient's inventory, I'd just like to be able to add a clickable "contact me" link to my product instructions and soforth.

I'd be happy with HTML notecards tho.

You can, in fact, give calling cards just like any other item. You can also put one in a box. Are there reasons why official viewers should continue to not support those things?

Since when, and how?
