Need Someones Advice....

I found a freebie scooter on slex yesterday... I rezzed it on my parcel... but when I try to remove it the "take" field is not highlighted. It shows me as ower. Can someone tell me why I cant remove this scooter, why "take" field is not highlighted? Thanks...

If you have a copy of the scooter in your inventory, a solution is delete the object rezzed.

Yeah, if the object is copy and you have it in your inventory, then it's actually more sane to delete it rather than take it anyway. (Otherwise, you'll soon have 20 identical scooters in your inventory.)

If if were copyable, and you wanted to modify it and take the modified copy back to your inventory, then you can click 'More' on your pie menu, and select 'Take Copy.' Then you can delete the rezzed copy after.

It's still weird though that you have no 'Take' option. I know of no reason why you shouldn't. If I were guessing, it would guess it is just some sort of temporary problem with Second Life. If you try it tomorrow, maybe the 'Take' option will show up.

ok so if i delete it in inventory it will disappear from my house.... this happened yesterday I thought too waiting a day would solve problem but its still there and no take option. will try to delete on my next login ... thanks for your help!!

Absolutely not. Deleting it from your inventory will not get rid of the rezzed copy. There is an option to delete it from the pie menu when you right click on the scooter that is rezzed.

Yeah, not delete it from the inventory. Keep a copy in inventory and delete the object rezzed.

Ride it onto your neighbor's parcel and let them deal with it.

That isn't such a bad idea - ride it onto a parcel with auto- return set on and get it back in your "lost and found" folder. You're brilliant Trout!

Right click, click more, click return, OK to the stupid message box and it goes to your lost and found folder.

ok i deleted it from inventory but still have rezzed copy on parcel. when i click on scooter i do not get 'take' as an option. riding to neighbors house does sound like a tempting idea... heh ... help

Have you tried Jannae's suggestion? Right click, select "more" and click "return".

If you can't do that either - then I can't think of anything else to try other than getting it back into your Lost and Found via autoreturn.

It is very odd that you haven't got a "Take" or a "Take Copy" option.

If you haven't got much rezd on the land, you could use the Land options to return all your objects - but this can result in them all being coalesced onto one object in your Lost and Found folder - so I'd only do that as a very last resort. I think I'd try raising a support ticket before I did that.

Right click first, then you should see "more", click more and you should see return among the options.. It has to be there if you are the objects owner (should show up even if you are not I think).

Send me a lm and I will look at this strange scooter if it does not go away.
