I was just thinking about SL surnames and wondering how many other Arcadia's there are out there (should have a meet up:) ), and then I got to thinking...I wonder who the oldest SL resident is (in terms of having been in SL). Is there anyone still around who has been in SL since it's first day?

But might as well ask as well, anyone have any idea how old in RL the oldest SL player is? I reckon there could be people into their 70's playing:D

When you start thinking about the history of SL, there's a couple of great ways to get information.

There are a few threads existing from 11/21/2002, but this one from 11/27/2002 explains the economics of SL.

The recent "Where's Magellan" thread has a lot of references to SL history, and through it, I was able to find earlier threads in tact, but I can't locate them now.

This wiki is badly outdated, but still fascinating: http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Second_Life_Through_The_Ages

Fun to note...in January, 2003, while still in beta, SL was only "open" from 4pm to 10pm and people were begging for more time...sheesh, addicts ;)

Just posting this for future residents :)
