Have you noticed the main web site has a friends online tracker that some people have a link under their name, what is the link to? Every time I click it ,the page errors out but not like the good ole 503 error though.

Those are people that have given you permission to see their location in-world. The link should be to the SLURL for their current location so that you can fire up SL and TP right there...
at least, in theory.

Well, the reason i say "in theory" is that for the past few days, I see something more like secondlife:///112/185 rather than the location. So I am assuming that it isn't working correctly right now.....

The default permission for friends is that you know they are online but not the location. If you are not allowed to know the location then clicking on their name will not yield any results.
I suggest getting them to allow you to know thier location and then test it again.

If you have not allowed them to see your in-world location, then the name isn't a link - it's just non-clickable text.
If they have allowed you, then the name changes to a link, which should (if it's working correctly) allow you to TP to their location, just like picking their name off the Friends list on the in-client map.
I have three people who have me set that way, and it worked fine until the last rolling restart, when i see the type of link I pasted above. And that is for all three of them.

Well, also "in theory" because for the past week or so, the entire Friends Online site seems to be confused about who is really online or not - and it changes its mind every few seconds. So just because the friend shows as online, and you can click the link because they allow it, you could still TP somewhere and not have your friend really be there cuz they aren't really even logged on at that time.
